Welcome to our website. We hope that, now you’ve found it, you will return to it again and again for inspiration, information, celebration – or even just plain amusement.
We should introduce ourselves if we want you to talk to us! We, the founding members of the Pike Anglers of Cambourne, are Stuart Curtis and Nigel Berryman. We are, surprise, surprise, residents of Cambourne – Lower and Great respectively.
We have both been angling since childhood and have pooled our cumulative experience of some 60 years angling. We wish we could emulate our heroes Matt Hayes and Mick Brown and fish full-time, of course, but life, wives and mortgages have conspired to keep us in employment (bus driving and computing) with angling as a most enjoyable retreat.
Our wives Teresa and Michelle, fortunately, support our angling endeavours and have been known to kick us out of our warm beds at unearthly hours, to ensure we get the best swims and optimum opportunity at the river bank… They happily shop for our picnics and keep us in supplies of pork pies and pasties. We couldn’t achieve half as much without their back-up. One of these days they might even let us keep our deadbaits in the freezer…we live in hope.
On a serious note, we fish for fun – with a healthy degree of competition - between us. I, Stuart, have been a member of various angling clubs over the years but have enjoyed our own local efforts considerably. We share new angling tips and techniques, we also swap ideas and news of recommended stockists and tackle shops and sites. We are genuinely thrilled for each other when we catch predator fish – or even other coarse specimens. Bring on the Catfish!!!
We would be delighted to hear from other potential members and would welcome the company – and the competition. We enjoy seeking out new venues and listening to advice from other keen anglers.
So, what are you waiting for?
Tight Lines.
Stuart and Nigel
